Never needing an excuse to dress-up, Miami International Fashion Week was the perfect event to don my stylish new frocks, enjoy a girl’s weekend in Miami with my favorite fashionista, Michelle LaChapelle, and see the latest and greatest of Miami’s fashion scene. Stylishly clad attendees gathered together to see established and up-and-coming designers from Latin America, shop unique, hand-made accessories and enjoy wine and culinary delights from local chefs.

Day 2 at Miami International Fashion Week!
On day 2, I wore black booties from Nine West, cream silk blouse by Theory and sequin clutch from BCBG.

Day 3 at Miami International Fashion Week
On day 3, I wore a mustard dress from Loehman’s, black Juicy Couture sequins scarf available in my store, and black sequins Betsy Johnson heels.
I first spotted this fabulous shoe lounging poolside at The Standard in Miami Beach on a leggy brunette. She wore a yellow version of this wedge style Mary Jane that matched her yellow and white bikini. After noticing her shoes, I had to go over and ask her who made them.
What I love about United Nude’s shoes is the architectural spirit combined with architectural style. It’s very fitting that United Nude originates from a collaboration between a Dutch architect and an English shoemaker. The Mono Jane shown here would also look great with tights and a cute dress for Fall/Winter and could also be worn into Spring with a summer day dress or perhaps at your favorite pool with a matching bikini.
United Nude made its Miami debut at a pop-up boutique in the Miami Design District.

The best part about going back-to-school, although it meant the end to my freedom and warm weather – was the shopping. I loved getting a new wardrobe before the first big day and finding the season’s must-haves to add to my closet.
Being the accessories lover that I am, my back-to-school shopping tends to lead me in the direction of jewelry. I can never pass up the latest and greatest statement watch.
To get that glamorous look, search for a large, menswear metal style watch. I also am always on the look-out for one that has the uniqueness factor – something different than my go-to gold or silver watch. This season my heart is set on the fabulous rose gold chronograph watch by Michael Kors. (Available at Nordstrom.com)
But finding a great statement watch doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg. You can find glamorous looking watches at just about anywhere, including Target and the local drugstore. A great place to find inexpensive statement watches is the Festival Flea Market in Pompano Beach. Here you will find several vendors selling watches for $10-$15. For directions, go to Festival.com.
